The MPFA was set up in September 1998 under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485). The Job

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Director (Information Technology) is expected to take charge of the Information Technology Division (ITD) and be responsible for planning and implementing long-term strategies, work plans and projects to meet MPFA’s business/organization objectives in the most cost-effective manner. Major duties of the appointee include:

Participate in developing the MPFA’s strategic plans, annual corporate plans and annual budgets with regard to information technology related areas;

Provide leadership and direction in the management and operation of information systems and infrastructure, services and support functions;

Establish and direct the strategic goals, policies, and procedures for the ITD;

Develop and manage a strong IT team to provide good customer service and rapid response to business needs of the MPFA;

Direct and monitor the implementation of IT plans and projects;

Oversee the development, maintenance and upgrading of the MPFA’s management information systems;

Ensure the integrity, reliability, and security of systems and data;

Identify emerging technologies and opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the MPFA’s systems and applications; and

Experience in applying AI and Chat GPT in business process is an advantage.

The Person

A recognized degree in Computer Science/Information Technology;

At least 15 years of relevant working experience in IT, of which at least four years should be at senior managerial level or above;

Substantial experience in managing large scale information systems and/or IT operation;

Outstanding leadership skills, strong in people management, interpersonal skills with sound leadership qualities;

Strategic-minded, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sensitivity to changes in external environment;

Good business acumen and competent in driving changes; and

Good interpersonal and communication skills and a sense of mission are crucial for success.

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered. All new appointments will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract initially prior to consideration for appointment on a non-fixed-term basis.
