We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Chief Commercial Officer.
Role Purpose
Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Life HK and Macau, the Chief Commercial Officer will be responsible for leading the commercial strategy of the company, overseeing the functions of Branding, Customer Engagement, Digital Marketing, Customer Life Cycle Management (CLCM), and Marketing Governance to ensure alignment with the company’s overall objectives and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Branding

• Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that reflects HSBC Life’s vision, mission and values.
• Manage brand perception and reputation, ensuring a positive and consistent image in the organization and the community.
• Conduct regular brand audits and market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.
• Lead initiatives to build and strengthen the brand, including sponsorships, partnerships, and community engagement.

Customer Engagement:

• Develop and implement customer engagement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty across all distribution channels.
• Design and implement customer offers, discounts and promotional campaigns to support business growth.
• Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather customer insights, and analyzing market trends to inform marketing strategies and thought leadership.
• Develop and implement brand-building strategies to enhance the HSBC Life’s visibility and reputation within Hong Kong and wider GBA markets.
• Foster a customer-centric culture within the organization, ensuring that customer feedback is integrated into business strategies.
• Collaborate with product development teams to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.

Digital Marketing:

• Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive sales growth through the digital channels.
• Oversee digital channels, including search engine optimization, social media, social listening etc to reveal emerging trends and customer needs.
• Promote Health & Wellness awareness to drive recognition of healthy lifestyles and financial well-being with an outcome of enhancing brand equity & customer engagement.
• Collaborate with Sales & Channel Development, IT and other departments to ensure seamless and secure digital customer journey experience.
• Utilize data analytics to measure the effectiveness of digital campaigns and make data-driven decision to optimize performance.

Customer Life Cycle Management:

• Design and execute strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty programmes.
• Analyze customer data to identify trends and insights, driving hyper-personalized marketing strategies and improving customer lifetime value.
• Partner with data analytics to enhance customer relationship management and ensure consistent communication across all touchpoints.

Marketing Governance:

• Establish and maintain marketing governance frameworks to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Develop and maintain brand guidelines that align with company’s strategic objectives, ensure consistent branding across all marketing materials.
• Drive collaboration and cross entities / functions alignment with WPB and Global Insurance to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns.
• Manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and return on marketing investment.
• Review and challenge intercompany recharges to align with company’s interests

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior marketing role within insurance or financial services industry.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital marketing and customer engagement strategies.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
• Fluency in Cantonese and English, proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of marketing governance and regulatory requirements within the insurance industry and HSBC internal framework.
