Junior Data Scientist

As a data analyst, you will develop and implement initiatives mainly in customer data domain, which include but not limited to data preparation, reporting, data visualization and model building. This will be done in close coordination with the business users, data engineers and ITs. To achieve success in these areas, you must be a confident, independent worker, with strong communication skills and self-motivation.

Job Responsibilities:

Exploring our datasets to find new insights about our customers.
Extract actionable business insights from the data and build deliverables that clearly communicate the findings and recommendations.
Working with our Data Science and Data Engineering teams to bring analytical work into production software.
Analyzing trends and changes in customer behavior
Execute the implementation of data analytics initiatives to improve customer engagement.
Build dashboard and reports in Power BI.
Explore/acquire new sources of data.
Be part of the Data community and showcase APAC Zurich use cases.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or above in related fields (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science etc.) and at least 1 or more years of experience in data analytics.
Experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple analytic projects with diverse cross-functional stakeholders.
Proficient at Python, SQL, R, or equivalents, including commonly used packages.
Data analytics experience in similar industry (e.g. insurance, financial services) preferred
Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions to solve business problems.
Preferably experience with Microsoft Azure environment.
Strong English language communication skills, and ideally Cantonese or Mandarin skills.
Ability to work independently and solve problems.
Ideally have knowledge of statistical and predictive modelling techniques such as Decision Trees, Clustering, Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, etc.
