The Position

Step into the world of Medical Affairs as a Medical Science Liaison and to provide scientific resources for external experts (EEs) in the related TA by responding to their research, medical practice and information needs. You have a chance to establish and enhance the role and image of Boehringer Ingelheim as a key partner in the medical and scientific community to advance medical practice for the benefit of the society. In this role, you will play an important part to our Medical Affairs team.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• As Medical Science Liaison, you will focus in External Expert / Key opinion leader (KOL) engagement wherein you will identify EEs/KOLs, establish and maintain EE/KOL database with commercial partner; build relationships with EE/KOLs to support clinical and research activities; provide relevant and updated scientific information to EE/KOLs through effective communication.
• With your strategic inputs, you will handle commercialization/promotion of allocated products : initiate or review and approve promotional, training, and continuing medical education (CME) materials; participate/facilitate customized scientific and educational interactions with health care professionals (HCPs).
• With your expertise, you will provide Business (marketing and sales) support : Provide medical expertise to facilitate product promotion, defense and competitive analysis. Participate in and provide medical inputs for EE/KOL meetings and advisory board meetings; highlight opportunities to aid customer issue resolution; co-ordinate educational or scientific programs with HCPs.
• You will guide the team by conducting Field force training : Prepare disease and product training materials for marketing and sales team; provide medical training to new sales staff; provide refresher and continuing training to sales staff through ongoing training.
• Furthermore, you will manage the New product planning/development : Provide medical evaluation for trial feasibility; scientific support to local formulations/line extensions development; provide medical expertise to support business development analysis e.g. market survey
The role focuses on 40% client facing/ management.

Requirements

• Approximately 3-4 years of working experience in pharmaceutical industry in medical affairs / MSL related functions
• Candidates with more experience, possible to consider for a higher title.
• Bachelor's Degree in Biosciences, life sciences or related subjects. Preferably with Pharmacy Degree.
• Some KOL engagement experience, established relationship with local KOLs and HCPs is an advantage
• Good knowledge of products and diseases management
• Fluent English and Chinese communication (both written and oral)
• Good communication and presentation skills
