Entry Requirements:
Applicants should
(a)(i) have Level 2 or equivalent [Note (1)] or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; or
(a)(ii) have Level 2 [Note (2)] / Grade E or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
(b) have at least 1 year of full-time working experience;
(c) be able to read and write Chinese and English, speak fluent Cantonese, English and Putonghua; and
(d) Applicants with ushering or relevant experience may be an advantage.
Note:
(1) For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2) For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language respectively in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties:
To perform ticket inspection, house programmes and pamphlet distribution, ushering, crowd control and other duties in designated venue(s) under the LCSD. Details to be arranged by venue management. Appointees are required to perform duties under stage sounds and lighting effect (usually in dim lighting), climb stepped aisles, communicate with patrons, guide and direct patrons to their seats and assist in enforcing venue’s house regulations.
(Note: Part-time Ushers are required to work shifts and irregular hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays, may need to work till midnight and walk or stand for a long period of time; and wear uniform at work.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
