An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, English-speaking professional to join our team as a pharmacist.

Dispense medication as stated on prescriptions, ensuring that the medication is labeled with the correct drug name, strength, quantity, directions for use and correct patient’s identification details

Ensure that the correct medication is given to each patient, counseling them on the dosage, storage instructions and possible side effects

Adhere to Practice policies and Hong Kong law when dispensing medicines, in particular those relating to expensive and controlled drugs; take consent from patients for medications not registered in Hong Kong

Identify drug interactions and notify prescribers before dispensing

Process requests for repeat prescriptions as requested by patients within the agreed time-scale, and document appropriately

Advise and counsel patients appropriately in relation to over-the-counter medication purchases

Maintain minimum stock levels of medications and consumables, checking expiry dates and storage conditions

Place accurate and timely orders with suppliers and accept deliveries of medication, recording them in the computer system

Source medication, consumables and equipment as requested by doctors or managers; find alternative sources of stock in cases of disruption to usual supply chain; maintain list of suppliers

Shifts are normal business hours and Saturday mornings.

Requirements:
Fluent English (spoken & written)

Must hold Employment visa or Hong Kong Permanent ID card

2+ years dispensing experience in hospital or clinic environment

Pleasant personality and excellent customer service skills

Self-motivated with good organizational skills

Able to work in a team and independently

Fully IT literate
