We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Counsel to join our dynamic team in the EMEA region. In this role, you will be based out of our offices in Budapest (Hungary) and will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing procurement contracts and supplier negotiations, ensuring that all agreements align with our company’s objectives and legal requirements.

You will be responsible for procurement and related matters.

You will manage and oversee procurement contract and supplier negotiations, administration, and compliance, ensuring that all contracts align with the company’s objectives and legal requirements and are completed on a timely basis.

• Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a breadth of procurement contracts, including supplier agreements, vendor agreements, service contracts, and purchase orders. Ensure that all contractual terms and conditions align with IFF’s policies and legal requirements.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Procurement Policy Development: Continuously improve contract management processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal aspects of procurement processes, contract law and contract management.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess legal, operational and practical risks associated with procurement activities. Develop strategies to mitigate potential risks and resolve legal disputes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement managers, buyers, compliance, security and finance teams, and senior leadership, to address legal issues and support procurement activities and strategies.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all procurement-related legal documents and correspondence.
• Supplier Management: Support the management of supplier relationships by providing legal guidance on issues such as performance disputes, contract breaches, quality claims and compliance matters.
• Protect Intellectual Property: Maintain and expand current understanding of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards and policy trends relevant to IFF raw materials, products and technology, including those related to data privacy, IP, trade secrets, artificial intelligence and data security.

• 2+ years of work experience in procurement and commercial law at a law firm, government and/or in-house corporate legal environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• A proven track record of effectively working with and building collaborative relationships with all levels within the organization.
• Comfortable working in a multinational, multicultural, manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 10-15 %.
• Fluency in English and in additional languages such as French, German, Spanish is highly desirable.
• Experience with FMCG, Pharma or Chemical industries is desirable.
