OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The department of Information Management and Technology sits within the Business Operations (BOS) Division, led by an Assistant Director-General. The vision of Information Management and Technology (IMT) is to leverage technology to innovate, collaborate and transform WHO for a healthier world. Its mission is to connect and empower people, automate and optimize digital WHO to deliver its strategic goals (three billion targets). The department leads all WHO IT teams globally in ensuring IT modernization, cost efficiencies through savings, increased staff productivity, harmonization across the Organization whilst being supported by project management practices, performance monitoring and reporting processes. Services which are common to all WHO offices are standardized, operated, and supported from a central yet cost-effective location. The business model requires leadership, close collaboration and active engagement with key stakeholders both in Headquarters and in the regions. The Chief Technology Office sets the overall technology direction to deliver the Information Management and Technology strategy and meet the needs of the Organization. It provides services and underlying technology platforms for digital workplace and enterprise information systems. It is made of the following teams: i) Architecture and Infrastructure Services; ii) Workplace and Collaboration Services; iii) Applications and Information Management; and iv) Operations and User Support.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Develop, maintain and apply governance policies for collaboration tools, including Share Point Online, One Drive, Yammer, Teams, etc.
- Gather requirements and optimize collaboration tools to ensure that they meet the needs of the Organization.
- Design, deploy and maintain Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, and their integration with other enterprise systems.
- Ensure proper configuration, functioning, availability and security of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, and their compliance with cybersecurity and data protection policies.
- Monitor usage and performance of collaboration tools, and help drive use adoption.
- Develop and maintain system documentations and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain tools to automate deployment, operations and management, including provisioning and de-provisioning of services and access authorizations.
- Provide third-level support for user requests, incident and problem management.
- Make related contributions to knowledge bases for users and support teams.
- Provide technical expertise to ICT projects, both in HQ and Regional Offices, in the domain of collaboration services.
- Stay current on latest technologies, particularly as they relate to development and enhancement of WHO information and communications technology infrastructure, and recommend and implement enhancements and extensions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: First university degree in computer science, engineering, information management, or related discipline.Desirable: Certifications related to Microsoft 365 collaboration services, and ITIL.
Experience
Essential:- At least 5 years of professional experience, of which at least 2 years of exposure at the international level, in deploying and supporting Microsoft 365 platform for collaboration and applications.
- Included in the minimum 5 years: at least 3 years of proven experience supporting large-scale environments, with large, global user bases, working with teams across geographic and cultural boundaries.
- Experience developing, documenting and maintaining system documentations and standard operating procedures.
- Recent working experience implementing and migrating to Microsoft 365 services.
- Experience with mobile applications.
- Experience in leading and managing projects with UN or other international or multinational organizations.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (e.g. Share Point Online, One Drive, Teams, Yammer and related service) including their integration with Office suite.
- Very good Knowledge of Entra ID and AD authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Good knowledge of scripting for systems deployment, operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of network (WAN and LAN) and related services.
- Understanding of systems management, performance tuning and monitoring.
- Exposure to broad range of IT infrastructure technologies, configurations, and services.
- Able to effectively support complex systems with large number of users.
- Adaptability and flexibility for working in complex and changing environment and under pressure.
- Creativity in approach to new challenges, both technological and organizational.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.

REMUNERATION
WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 2805 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
