About Team
Provides accounting support to Merchants and Vendors for Accounts Receivable, along with preparing reports for management review. They also ensure that all financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations. The team regularly reviews and updates its receivables policies and procedures, staying informed of changes in accounting standards and regulations.
Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a team of individual contributors who ensure that all vendor funds are accurately tracked, documented, accrued, collected, and properly recorded in Lowe’s financials. In addition to managing vendor funds, this role involves overseeing the resolution of vendor disputes in a timely manner and ensuring that all cost updates are promptly entered into the system. This position also ensures that financial transactions are accurately accounted for and classified within the company’s financial statements in compliance with company policy and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The role demands strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to develop and implement strategies to enhance the accounts receivable process.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of individual contributors by providing direction, feedback, and oversight to ensure a high standard of excellence.
  • Manages the daily operations of the accounts receivable department, including vendor funds, collections, and customer account reconciliations. Prepares and evaluates reports to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ensures that supporting documents, provisions, and other details for journal entries and account reconciliations are properly maintained and documented before approval.
  • Oversees the accuracy and completeness of accounts receivable records and transactions.
  • Supervises, mentors, and develops the accounts receivable team by setting performance goals and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Collaborates with the business to understand new transactions or changes and ensures that accounting processes are properly designed and updated in a timely manner.
  • Continuously reviews existing processes to identify areas for improvement and drive efficiencies.
  • Prepares and presents regular reports on accounts receivable performance, including key metrics such as aging and pending reports.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with the Mooresville team to ensure timely payment and issue resolution.
Years of Experience:
Required:
  • 10 years - overall combined experience in accounting (industry or public)
  • 4 years – accounting experience in large ERP environment (Oracle and/or People Soft preferred)
  • 6 years – experience managing teams of individual contributors.
Preferred:
  • Experience with process improvements/system enhancements/automation related to accounting functions.
  • Experience performing and/or reviewing account reconciliations.
Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Information Systems or other related field
  • CA/CPA (preferred)
