Job Summary:
Tajmac-USA is seeking an experienced Internal Sales Estimator to join our machine tool sales team in Indianapolis. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for a variety of machine tools and related projects. You will collaborate with the sales team to meet customer requirements while ensuring the delivery of high-quality service and competitive pricing. This position is critical in helping Tajmac-USA maintain its reputation for delivering precision machine tools with outstanding customer support.
Key Responsibilities:

• Quotation Preparation: Assess customer inquiries related to machine tools, evaluate project requirements, and prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations.
• Cost Estimation: Develop precise cost estimates by analyzing material, labor, and production costs for machine tools and related services.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates and quotations.
• Vendor Relations: Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain updated pricing and availability for machine tools and components.
• Customer Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external customers regarding pricing, product specifications, and delivery timelines.
• Database Management: Maintain an organized and up-to-date record of all quotes, pricing data, and customer interactions to ensure smooth follow-up and reporting.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates to the sales manager regarding ongoing quotations, bid status, and overall sales opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an estimator, sales estimator, or in a related role, preferably in the machine tool, manufacturing, heavy equipment or engineering industries.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation practices specific to machine tools and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and Adobe Acrobat for creating detailed proposals and documents.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate pricing and cost estimation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machine tool specifications.
• Effective communication and customer service skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with CAD or other technical drawing software.
• Experience working in the machine tool industry or related fields.
• ERP or CRM (Salesforce) system experience to track customer inquiries and manage the sales pipeline.
