This position reports into R&D Director, APAC Region and is based at Mumbai.

What You Will Do
As a Scientist - R&D Materials, you will be responsible for:

• Leading raw material portfolio management and new raw material qualifications to support innovation & Life Cycle Management (LCM) projects in the APAC region.
• Representing the Materials team in cross-functional teams and providing raw material-related support to execute technical transfer projects for the APAC region.
• Collaborating with global raw material portfolio teams to streamline management, qualification processes, and deploy new requirements across the APAC region.
• Guiding R&D teams on raw material governance processes to ensure robust assessments, risk evaluation, and execution of mitigation plans by participating in Steer Committee meetings.
• Driving improvements in current processes by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinating project-related activities with third-party resources to ensure alignment, efficiency, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead raw material portfolio management and technical transfer projects for the APAC region (35% of your time).
• Participate in various stakeholder meetings to shape and streamline processes (30% of your time).
• Coordinate project activities with third-party partners (10% of your time).
• Review and approve change controls, assess technical documents and data, and manage quality metrics (15% of your time).
• Train and assess performance of team members, contractors, and third-party resources (10% of your time).

Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Analytical/Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in the FMCG/Pharma sector.

Desired Qualifications

• Passion for materials science and learning.
• Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office tools and project management.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Learning agility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead independent workstreams both regionally and globally.
