Purpose of the Role: The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing creative content ideas, executing social media strategies and managing all social channels to enhance brand equity, engage target audiences and drive growth for Arrow Mc Laren’s digital presence for fan engagement. The ideal candidate will be innovative, analytical and skilled at integrating partner and community collaborations into social content seamlessly.
Principal Accountabilities:
Content Ideation & Creation:
- Generate creative, engaging and impactful content ideas across all social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Tik Tok, You Tube and emerging platforms at NTT INDYCAR SERIES races and year-round for the Arrow Mc Laren Indy Car Team.
- Develop content that aligns with Arrow Mc Laren’s commercial objectives, delivers optimal tone of voice and sparks rewarding engagement and conversation.
- Collaborate across the greater Arrow Mc Laren Indy Car team and the larger Mc Laren Racing organization to produce high-quality visual and written content.
- Leverage positive relationships with drivers and team personnel to enhance their engagement and impact in social and digital media efforts.
- Manage and execute social media posts, stories and campaigns across all platforms and activate onsite at various track events including but not limited to 17 NTT INDYCAR SERIES races each season.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and maintain a unified Mc Laren Racing tone of voice across all channels.
- Lead the planning and execution of team production days to capture strategic, forward-thinking evergreen content.
- Maintain a content calendar for a continuous planning and execution cadence while incorporating feedback and approval from necessary parties within Arrow Mc Laren and team partners.
- Deliver campaign strategies and execution to recognize and celebrate the diversity of our team and fans in meaningful and engaging ways.
- Support with broader commercial initiatives by executing social media and digital media strategies aligning with team, partner and fan engagement campaigns and events.
- Collaborate with Arrow Mc Laren Indy Car Team partners to strategically integrate messaging through social media content.
- Ensure all partner objectives and contractual commitments through social and digital media are met in a timely manner.
- Facilitate communication with the social and digital media team to gather feedback for continuous improvement and best practices to maximize reach and impact.
- Track and report on the success of partnership campaigns, providing insights on engagement, reach and ROI.
- Engage with the Arrow Mc Laren social media community by responding to comments, messages and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
- Optimize influencer outreach and engagement tactics, ensuring collaborations align with team and partner objectives while providing engaging content and strong ROI.
- Escalate concerns and appropriate feedback to the communications and leadership team as necessary.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, conversions) to assess the effectiveness of content and campaigns.
- Provide regular reports on identified social media KPIs with recommendations for improvement.
- Use data to inform content strategies and optimize campaigns for better results.
- Monitor trends, insights, and platform updates to enhance content strategies and stay relevant in the social space.
- Experiment with new content formats and adapt quickly to changes in social media practices and algorithms.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in social media management, content creation and campaign execution.
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills with a strong understanding of social media best practices and appropriate tone of voice.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with partner content integration.
- Familiarity with photography capture and managing equipment.
- Graphic design expertise is a bonus asset.
- Ability to travel up to 17 races per year.
- Creativity and effective execution in content development.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Strategic approach to maximizing revenue through impactful social and digital media campaigns and commerce promotion.
- Aptitude to build strong relationships with teammates to enhance dynamic and rewarding content.
- Team-oriented and collaborative approach.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on insights.
