STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
This is an operational management position responsible for the quality, efficiency and performance of the Apex procurement team. The Strategic Procurement Manager will plan, implement, manage, and run all the procurement and purchasing activities for Apex, including maintaining relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders. The individual in this position will maintain individual and team goals that align with the overall Company strategy and develop key measurements and metrics that ensure the department and team are delivering and providing a high level of service.
This role will be located at our Westfield, IN location. Candidates in the Minneapolis, MN, metro area will also be considered.
JOB DUTIES:

• Manage the full life cycle procurement process including qualifications, requisitions, purchase order creation, pricing, terms and contract negotiations.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the overall goals and objectives of the Company.
• Work closely with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
• Work with sales and operations to develop and maintain sales forecasts to ensure the availability of raw materials.
• Manage inventory levels through all purchasing cycles to ensure timely availability.
• Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results, including cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures including Company, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
• Track and report on procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Provide strong, positive leadership to the Purchasing team that maximizes the Company's operations, efficiencies, and safety objectives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the procurement team.
• Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines.
• Complete other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor?s degree
• Five (5) plus years of progressively increasing experience in procurement
• Three (3) plus years of people management experience
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful procurement strategies
• Experience and proficiency with procurement relates tools and systems
• Proven history of building strong professional relationships
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• MBA or other advanced degree
• Manufacturing industry experience or related
• Chemical industry experience or related
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly motivated self-starter and strategic thinker with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
• Business acumen
• Ability to effectively drive change, process driven
• Possess leadership competencies necessary to motivate teams to attain their goals
• Proficient with MS Office tools
