- Overseeing the end-to-end engineering processes within PS within the region, encompassing internal and external manufacturing and warehousing.
- This role collaborates cross-functionally and focuses on enabling operational excellence and PS strategies through strategic capital investment planning, enabling Factory and Warehouse of the Future, and ensuring brilliant execution of high investment strategic projects.
- Additionally, this role also emphasizes the development of Regional engineering talent ensuring future fit capabilities that meet the challenges of today and the future.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enhanced Gross Margin through engineering initiatives that improve and transform operational efficiency and effectiveness across the supply chain, including manufacturing and warehousing, as with CMO and 3PL.
- Acceleration of Factory & Warehouse of the Future to enable end-to-end agile Supply Chain responsiveness to changing market demands and customer needs.
- Successful execution of engineering initiatives that drive innovation, improve product quality and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and sustainability commitments.
- Development of a high-performing engineering team committed to
- continuous improvement, engineering and operational excellence. Promote a culture of entrepreneurship and value creation mindset.
- Strengthened relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and support for engineering initiatives and transformation projects.
- STRATEGIC INVESTMENT MASTER PLANS: with operations, develop long-term and annual plan investment strategy that enables initiatives and innovation that reduce costs across the supply chain, including identifying areas for efficiency improvements. Ensure investments meet business goals of the regions.
- PROJECT APPROVALS & DESIGN GOVERNANCE: approve engineering project, plans, budgets, and resource allocations for PS region initiatives, including capex and transformation projects.
- ENGINEERING STANDARDS & BEST PRACTICES: ability to establish the enforce engineering standards, best practices, and HSE & Sustainability protocols across regional PS.TECHNOLOGY SELECTION: strategic decision to technology selection and adoption that align with business objectives and standards framework.
- RISK MANAGEMENT: identify and evaluate risks associated with projects and ensure risk mitigation
- TRAINING & EDUCATION PROGRAMS: deciding on the content, format, and frequency of engineering training programs aimed at enhancing engineering future fit talent development
- INVESTMENT IN TECHNOLOGY: decide on strategies for continuous improvement based on data and approve methods including technologies and industry best practices. Decide on the adoption of new advanced technologies that can drive supply chain efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Internal: Work with internal stakeholders such as PS, RMSQC, Customer and product teams
- External: Parties such as agencies
WHO YOU ARE
- 10+years of related working experience is needed.
- LEADERSHIP & STRATEGIC THINKING: ability to lead and inspire cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration,
- innovation, engineering discipline and accountability. Ability to
- develop and execute engineering strategies that align with the region’s
- goals and objectives to drive operational excellence and sustainable
- growth and compliance.
- TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: in-depth understanding of engineering principles and practices relevant to end-to-end product supply, including Factory and Warehouse of the Future concepts and advanced technologies.
- ANALYTICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING: strong proficiency in analyzing complex data sets in order to problem solve and make informed decisions.
- Aptitude for identifying issues and developing creative solutions to complex challenges within the supply chain.
- FINANCIAL ACUMEN: strong understanding of financial principles, particularly regarding capex management, COGS, depreciation, profit margins, and financial forecasting to allow for effective evaluation of financial implications related to project business case justifications.
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT & CHANGE MANAGEMENT: expertise in planning, executing and monitoring projects aimed at optimizing product supply processes, educing costs, and supply chain improvements. This includes managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful project outcomes. Strong change management leadership and ability to implement changes in processes and supplier relationships while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION, STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and collaborate closely with various departments and stakeholders to align efforts towards common goals on savings and capacity improvementinitiatives linked to gross margin goals. Strong ability to demonstrate leadership to foster teamwork and enhance team effectiveness.
- MARKET INSIGHT & AWARENESS: understanding innovation market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behaviour that could affect supply chain costs and adjust investment strategies accordingly. Compliance knowledge of industry regulations and standards that can impact projects, ensuring that all strategies adhere to legal requirements.
- RISK ASSESSMENT & ANALYTICAL EXPERTISE: Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, to effectively evaluate and prioritise risks based on impact.
- DIGITAL & TECHNOLOGY SAVVY: strong familiarity with engineering resource planning systems to track capex and optimize processes, and a bias for understanding digital and technologies that can automate processes and reduce costs, while improving employee experiences.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS & TRAINING: clear communication skills to convey vision, impact, strategies, expectations and performance. Strong verbal and written communication to engage diverse audience to embrace high performing team.
