Senior Philanthropic Manager

ROLE PROFILE SENIOR PHILANTHROPY MANAGER

CHILD SAFEGUARDING

Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g., once a week or more) or intensively (e.g., four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Senior Philanthropy Manager is responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gifts from high value donors, including HNWI to support increase income from major donors, prioritizing unrestricted income where possible of SC Indonesia. This position is part of Business Development team, specifically responsible for fundraising and engagement with major donors, in collaboration with Individual Giving team managed the Komunitas Pahlawan Anak (KPA), towards the target of achieving at least 25% unrestricted portfolio by 2030.

The role report directly to the Chief of Growth Officer and is responsible for developing appropriate stewardship and account management strategies, as well as internal enabling ecosystem at SC Indonesia.
KEY AREA OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Strategic Development of SC IDN Revenue Model

Identify and cultivate a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and foundations as potential major donors to support SC IDN's mission and programs.
In collaboration with Chief of Growth Officer, Chief Program Impact Creation, co-lead the development of annual workplan and budget for Resources Mobilization and SC IDN business unit, align with the Country Strategic Plan and institutional priorities
Develop and implement personalized donor engagement strategies tailored to individual donor interests and priorities.
Secure significant major gifts as falls into the SC internal major gifts value category
Provide exceptional donor stewardship by ensuring timely and transparent reporting on the impact of donor contributions.
Recognize and acknowledge donor support through appropriate public and private acknowledgment.
Analyze market trends and client needs to identify growth opportunities.

Team Management and Development

Manage donor relationships through regular communication, meetings, and events to foster trust and deepen donor commitment.
Cultivate donor loyalty and ongoing engagement by fostering strong relationships and providing opportunities for meaningful involvement.
Ensure compliance with all relevant donor regulations, reporting requirements, and ethical standards for individual donors.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely donor reports, including donor acknowledgment letters, tax receipts, and annual giving summaries.
Maintain confidentiality of donor information and adhere to strict data privacy protocols.

Grow Unrestricted Income

Develop and execute major donor fundraising campaigns and initiatives to attract new donors and increase giving levels.
Identify and leverage opportunities for collaboration with other fundraising departments and partners to maximize donor acquisition efforts.
Track and analyze donor acquisition data to inform future fundraising strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.
Manage the development, execution, and evaluation of strategy to increase unrestricted income portfolio through diversified revenue streams, including Individual Giving (IG) with focus on major gift

Develop Internal Enabling Ecosystem at SC IDN

Develop internal mechanisms for High-Net Worth Individual (HNWI) and major gifts, including governance, policies, procedures, and ways of work across departments.
Set up internal and external mechanisms of work for engagement with major gifts donors.
Monitor and report on revenue performance metrics and KPIs

Brand and Reputation:

Contribute to ensuring all staff are aware and are actively involved in building and maintaining the brand in all related activities managed by the Philanthropy Manager

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Growth of new major donors and HNWIs per quarter
Increased funding portfolio with bigger proportion of unrestricted income portfolio, and growth total grants and donations
Development and implementation of a comprehensive major donor fundraising strategy aligned with SC IDN's overall strategic goals

QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant degree with minimum of 10+ years of experience in in major donor fundraising, with a proven track record of securing significant gifts.

Proven experience in donor fundraising, high net worth individuals or a related field with solid understanding about non-profit management and enabling conditions towards financial sustainability in non-profit

Excellent strategic and analytical mindset and ability to present business model and plan to the Board Member, High-Net Worth Individual (HNWI), and other high-level strategic network for supports and investments

Proven track record in engagement with major donors/HNWI, with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals and major donors

Experience in developing and implementing donor relationship management systems and knowledge of best practices in donor recognition and stewardships

Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team responsible for donor relations

Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia

Demonstrated leaderships quality in managing large-scale team members and support professional development for the team

Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s vision, values and principles, including rights-based approaches in Indonesia

Confidence at working directly with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including at CEO level.
