The Role

• Full-time, permanent position for an animal care assistant
  

• 40 hours (5 days) per week
  

• Wage is €13.50 per hour
  

• Duties include assisting with the care of inpatients, and cleaning of the practice
  

• Start date September 2024

Are you the perfect fit?
We are seeking a trustworthy, reliable and friendly person able to work in a fast-paced veterinary practice environment. The successful applicant must have:

• A relevant qualification in animal care (QQI or similar)
  

• Experience in veterinary or animal care is beneficial but not essential
  

• Have a strong team work ethic
  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  

• Demonstrate high standards of hygiene and cleaning
  

• Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  

• Possess great organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
  

• A love for animal welfare is a requirement

Animal Care Hospital is a companion animal practice in Douglas, Cork. Our phenomenal veterinary team is made up of 3 Veterinarians, 2 Veterinary Nurses, a practice manager and a receptionist. Our team is highly experienced, and patient focused. We are a collaborative team with an emphasis on employee wellbeing and high-quality veterinary care. Our practice boasts top-of-the-range laboratory equipment which allows us to perform a lot of individualized testing to be done in-house enabling speedy, same day results. We have full digital radiology facilities and perform a wide range of surgical procedures. We also work very closely with the local charity Cat Action Trust.
