Art Gallery Assistant

Gormleys, one of Ireland's leading contemporary art galleries, seeks a proactive and personable art gallery assistant. This is a full-time position based in our gallery in Dublin 2.
Key Duties;

Gallery maintenance & upkeep- ensuring the gallery is well presented and clean at all times. Painting walls and plinths when required.
Manual and physical work- lifting and hanging paintings, organising the store room, packaging artwork for shipping etc.
Sculpture garden maintenance- cleaning, polishing and waxing outdoor sculptures.
Engage with customers on artwork to help generate sales.
Ensuring customers receive a first-class service & customer experience.
Admin duties- updating database, coding and uploading artworks, updating customer & sales records, managing stock etc.
Photographing, coding and photoshopping artworks.
Following up on customer and email enquiries.
Working at external art fairs and events.

Experience/ skills required;

Previous customer service or sales experience
A passion and interest in art
Enjoys manual work
Extremely well-organised with a proactive attitude
Passion for delivering excellent customer service
Excellent administration & computer skills
Experience with photography & photoshop

This is a full-time position based in our Dublin Gallery on South Frederick Street in Dublin 2. Weekend work will be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €25,000.00-€28,000.00 per year
Additional pay:

Commission pay

Schedule:

8 hour shift
Every weekend
Monday to Friday
Weekend availability
