• Monday to Sunday working 5/7 Days: Must be available between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Subject to change
• Flexibility required to cover holidays and occasional additional hours.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Deli Assistant to join our team at Viking Newsagent and Deli. This role involves preparing and serving food in a busy deli environment while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and hot food
• Keep the deli counter clean, well-stocked, and organized
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service
• Assist with maintaining stock levels and restocking as needed
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Be flexible to cover shifts during holidays or when additional coverage is needed

Requirements:

• Prior experience working in a deli or food preparation setting is essential
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
• Flexibility with working hours, including availability between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and willingness to cover additional shifts as needed
