Job Overview:
As a Fabricator and Welder at Over Head door company Ireland, you will play a key role in the production and assembly of custom metal components for our automatic door systems. You will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and welding various metal parts according to precise designs and specifications. This position requires both fabrication and welding skills to ensure the highest quality standards are met for our products.
Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication:
• Technical drawings, and CAD designs to understand product specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape metal materials (e.g., steel, to required dimensions using tools such as saws, grinders, and shears.
• Operate various metalworking machinery, such as bending machines, drills, and presses.
• Assemble metal components prior to welding, ensuring accuracy and precision in fit and form.

Welding:

• Perform MIG, welding on a variety of metals to join, repair, or reinforce parts.
• Ensure strong and aesthetically pleasing welds, avoiding weak spots or defects.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments or corrections.
• Clean and polish welds and metal surfaces as required.

General Responsibilities:

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Collaborate with engineers and the design team to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
• Perform minor maintenance on fabrication and welding equipment when needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication or welding-related challenges during production.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Fabricator and Welder in a manufacturing or construction setting (experience in the automatic door industry is a plus).
• Proficiency with welding equipment (MIG) and fabrication tools (cutters, grinders, presses, etc.).
• Strong understanding of metal properties and welding techniques for different materials.
• Physical ability to handle manual labour, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions.
• Certification in welding (preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to fabrication and welding.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and industrial machinery.
• Must adhere to strict safety standards, including wearing protective gear (masks, gloves, goggles, etc.).
