Job Summary:
Nu Solas Energy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Field Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate our solar PV installations, manage site teams, and ensure operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a critical role in achieving installation targets, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires a strong background in the construction industry, with a thorough understanding of carpentry, electrical work, and solar PV systems. The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of site operations, including staff, health and safety, warehouse, stock management, and company vehicles. Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the expansion of our nationwide operations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Site Team Management:
• Oversee and manage all site teams, ensuring high-quality installations and adherence to project timelines.
• Conduct interviews and assessments of site employees.
• Conduct morning briefs with the site team to outline daily goals and tasks.
• Project and Installation Management:
• Achieve weekly installation targets while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• Conduct residential and commercial site assessments to determine solar suitability.
• Ensure all installations are completed within the set budget and timelines.
• Customer Relations:
• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing after-installation support and addressing any issues that may arise.
• Resolve customer issues professionally and in a timely manner.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
• Enforce health and safety standards on site and in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Regularly review and update health and safety policies to reflect changes in regulations and industry standards.
• Warehouse and Stock Management:
• Manage stock levels, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure that all materials and equipment are available for installations.
• Oversee the warehouse, including maintenance of company vans and equipment.
• Budget and Resource Management:
• Direct and coordinate activities related to the planning, delivery, and support of services, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
• Manage job-specific budgets, keeping expenditures within set limits.
• Policy and Goal Development:
• Determine, establish, and communicate policies, goals, objectives, and procedures to the team.
• Implement strategies to support the company’s expansion to nationwide operations.
• Staff Management and Development:
• Prepare work schedules, assign specific duties, and manage staff effectively.
• Promote a positive working environment, focusing on employee satisfaction and professional development.
• Subcontractor Coordination:
• Manage relationships with subcontractors to ensure they meet Nu Solas Energy’s standards for quality and safety.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in an operations management role within the construction industry, with a focus on carpentry and electrical work.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in conducting interviews and managing site teams.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a proven track record of managing health and safety on construction sites.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle customer issues professionally.
• Familiarity with solar PV systems and a strong understanding of solar installation processes.
• Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a fast-paced, operational management role, ideally within the construction industry.
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performance teams.
• Exceptional planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to build relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and solid IT skills.
• A self-starter mentality, with a proactive approach to challenges and a focus on achieving outstanding results.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Adaptability in managing multiple priorities and deadlines, even under pressure.
• Proven experience in handling and resolving customer issues effectively.
• Previous experience in managing large-scale projects and/or expansion operations.
• Certification in health and safety or a related field.
