JOB TITLE: Sales Assistant based in Douglas, Cork
Hassetts Bakery offer a wide range of products including artisan breads, luxury desserts, cakes for all occasions, as well as award winning biscuits, cookies and crackers. We are currently recruiting for a fully flexible Sales Assistant to work in our shop located in Douglas Court Shopping Centre.
The right candidate is available to work a minimum 25 hours including weekends. They will have previously sales experience and excellent customer service skills.
MAIN DUTIES
  • Work as part of the Hassett’s team to provide the highest standard of food preparation quality, presentation and service.
  • Check quality and freshness on all products delivered/produced during shift.
  • Deliver excellent service to our customers including expert advice on our products.
  • Ensure stock levels are well maintained and the store is kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensure stock is rotated appropriately to ensure in date stock is available and to minimise waste through out-of-date stock.
  • Maintain the highest standards of store presentation and cleanliness including shop floor, display areas and back of house areas.
  • Manage point of sale processes, including cash, card & credit transactions.
  • Ensure attention to detail, especially when handling money and cards.
  • Assist and follow the direction of supervisors in keeping the store clean and presentable at all times.
  • Preparation of speciality coffees and seasonal drinks where applicable.
  • Ensure the regular and systematic cleaning and maintenance of the equipment in both the front and back of house.
  • Participate in regular stock taking including daily waste counting and stock counts.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures, particularly for the security of cash and merchandise, and report any concerns to Management.
  • Comply at all times with SOPs and Safety and Quality procedures in your area.
  • Attend relevant training and implement learnings on site or as required.
  • Reduce and maintain wastage, both food wastage and package wastage.
  • Understand HACCP and adhere to all HACCP and food safety standards consistently.
  • Maintain accurate food safety, housekeeping, delivery and temperature records.
  • Assess equipment before use and report any maintenance needs to Shop Manager.
  • Report any accidents or near misses to Shop Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a permit to work in Ireland
  • Fluent in English
  • Previous sales experience
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer facing environment essential
  • Must have an excellent standard of English literacy and numeracy
  • Good timekeeping essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrates initiative, an aptitude to learn quickly and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Ability to be an enthusiastic team player with a good friendly attitude
