Job Description
Your position is as Housekeeper for the Franciscan Province of Ireland with responsibility for general cleaning and upkeep of the areas assigned by the Guardian in our house in Galway. You may be required to carry out other duties from time to time which are not outlined in this job description.
Responsibilities:

Regular cleaning of all bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers and baths.
The cleaning of all guest rooms and the changing of linen as required.
Cleaning of internal windows, which can be reached without a ladder.
Removal of all rubbish to appropriate bins.
Cleaning of all common areas of the Friary including parlours, community room, corridors, Chapel, stairs and stair-wells.
Dust, wash and/or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, radiators, shelves etc.
Replenish consumables e.g. soap, toilet roll
Vacuum, wash or polish and buff floors as appropriate.
Notify the Guardian of deficiencies or items in need of repair.
Cleaning and polishing of bannisters, door handles and frames.
Cleaning of the lift
Cleaning of Friar’s rooms where Friars are unable to do for themselves
Laundry for Friars as required.

Experience and Qualifications:
We are not looking for specific qualifications, however demonstrable experience in a similar role is required. Candidates must have fluent English and will need to be Garda Vetted. Candidates must have a valid work permit to commence employment.
