Tom Smyth & Associates is an expanding HR Consultancy and Employment Law practice based in Little Island, Cork. We provide a wide range of HR and Employment Law services to employers and we currently have an opportunity for an ambitious and passionate professional who wishes to develop a career in this field.
This is a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skill-set across multiple areas of HR. As a member of our Human Resources Consultancy team, you will benefit from ongoing training, gain experience across a range of HR functions, and work on a wide range of HR Consultancy projects. This is all done within a dynamic, growth-focused and collaborative team environment.

*This is a permanent role with a 6-month probationary period. The position is based in our Cork office and occasional travel to client sites will be required.
Duties & Responsibilities
On a phased basis, the successful candidate will be exposed to a full suite of HR Consultancy projects and will take responsibility in areas such as;

Dealing with phone and email queries on aspects of HR, IR and Employment Law, ensuring these are dealt with promptly and within HR and Company guidelines.
Preparation of HR documents, including contracts of employment and handbooks.
Maintaining HR databases and Information Systems, ensuring the highest levels of data protection, accuracy and integrity.
Managing workplace investigations, disciplinary meetings and appeals.
Assistance and attendance at WRC and Labour Court hearings.
Attending client premises as an outsourced Client HR Manager.
Providing administrative support to the wider HR team, to include note-taking where required.
Researching and preparing communications, case-law reviews, articles and newsletters for clients and social media channels.
Supporting the development and marketing of online training services, employer supports and materials.
Supporting the overall HR team by demonstrating flexibility in providing cover for team members.
Being open and willing to take on new challenges as the services provided by the HR team continue to grow.
Any other duties assigned.

Key Requirements and Attributes:
The ideal candidate will have;

A genuine interest in HR, with a desire for ongoing learning and development in terms of employment legislation, HR trends and case law.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage a varied workload with multiple tasks.
Good general knowledge of Irish employment legislation.
Positive and proactive approach, with demonstrable ability to work as part of a team and independently, using own initiative.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing appropriate to the situation.
Flexibility to the needs of the business.
Proficient in MS Office.
Full driving licence, use of car and willingness to travel anywhere in Ireland.
This is primarily an office-based role. However the successful candidate may, on occasion, work remotely with agreement.
A 3rd Level Qualification in HR is essential.
Some experience in a HR environment is preferable, but not critical.
