From artisan sandwiches to brunch favorites and indulgent desserts, Baker 51 Café will be a welcoming go-to spot for the community. We’re now seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher to help us create a clean and organised kitchen environment that supports the success of our new café.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Hygiene

• Wash crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and utensils quickly and thoroughly.
• Ensure food preparation areas, work surfaces, walls, and floors are kept clean and sanitised daily.
• Conduct regular deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and storage areas.
• Maintain hygiene standards in line with health and safety regulations.

Stock & Storage

• Organize storerooms, refrigeration units, and freezers to ensure easy access and compliance with food safety standards.
• Support stock-taking processes and monitor stock levels as required.

Deliveries & Equipment

• Unload and store food and equipment deliveries promptly and efficiently.
• Report any faulty equipment or safety hazards to a supervisor.

Team Support

• Collaborate with the kitchen and café team to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide general porter support across all areas of the café.

Requirements:
Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year in a similar role, with experience handling chemical cleaning products and deep cleaning kitchen equipment.
• Familiarity with food hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours) and carry out physically demanding tasks.
• Capable of bending, stooping, and frequently lifting items weighing up to 20 kilos.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Manual Handling Training.
