Laundry Attendant

- To obtain, transmit and store information relating to the delivery of the Laundry service within the Nursing Home.
- Wash soiled linen, dry, iron and put back in correct rooms or area.
- Ensure that residents’ personal clothing is washed at the appropriate cycle to minimise damage by reading wash instructions on labels.
- Label clothes to minimise loss.
- After use, leave equipment clean, tidy and safe and report any faults to the Director of Nursing.
- Use cleaning products correctly – read instructions carefully, along with safety data sheets.
- Ensure that cleaning products and utensils are neatly stored in designated areas.
- Ensure that washing machine detergent dispenser is cleaned regularly.
- Ensure that filters in dryers are cleaned after each use.
- Ensure that the Laundry area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Make sure time is used effectively.
- Record keeping.
- Ensure that you maintain the cleanliness and good order of your area of assignment and associated areas to the highest possible standard.
- Ensure efficient and economical use of materials and equipment.
- To adhere to specifications, standards and procedures while at work.
- To report mechanical defects and needs for repairs.
- To take all necessary steps to ensure the maximum security of your area of assignment and all equipment and supplies contained therein.
- To carry our any reasonable requests by management
- Comply with Policies/Procedures
- Maintain familiarity and comply with all Nursing Home policies and procedures in relation to your duty as Domestic Assistants.
- Comply with all safety regulations in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and maintain a hazard-free environment.
- Report all incidents and accidents involving self to the Director of Nursing.
- Code of Conduct
- Maintain appropriate appearance and behaviour in keeping with Nursing Home policy.
- Maintain good personal hygiene practices.
- Attend meetings, as and when directed.
- This list is not exhaustive. Domestic Assistants will be required to perform such other duties as appropriate to the post, as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Director of Nursing or such other designated person.
Expected hours: 27 – 36 per week
