General Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
- Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance
- Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
- Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
- Understanding all client requirements in relation to Transport & Logistics.
- Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in line with business requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities
- Monitoring existing logistic systems and make suggestions for improvements when needed
- Contract negotiations for international transport with third parties to realise long term cooperation
- Identify and implement new process flows and controls to manage key accounts
- Ensure all procedures are adhered to in relation to industry compliance and Customer SLA's.
- Collaborate effectively in various cross functional workstreams to ensure operational support and adapting working models as necessary.
- Partner with stakeholders in supply chain and across the organisation to ensure compliant transportation of client's products
- Plan and implement improvements to internal distribution systems or processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
- Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
- Other duties as required
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years management experience in similar role is required
- Must have a proven track record in transboundary logistics management /supply chain operations
- Proven expertise in electronics logistics management is required
- Demonstrated expertise in customer relationship management is essential for success in this role
- Ability to manage a pipeline of multiple accounts and partners
Interpersonal & Technical Skills
- Efficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Motivated to make a difference in a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritise tasks as per deadline requirements
- Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
- Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations, including security requirements to include aviation security
