The Iveagh Trust is the oldest provider of social housing in Ireland, building sustainable communities since 1890. Today, the Trust provides circa 1,700 homes in Dublin, across nine locations, offering a range of housing options including general needs housing for families, supported housing for older people, and accommodation for men experiencing homelessness at the Iveagh Hostel.
The Iveagh Trust is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor (Residential Repairs & Maintenance) to oversee the maintenance operations of our residential properties in Dublin. This is a new position and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to influence the development of the maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day maintenance operations of all Iveagh Trust properties.
  • Lead and supervise the in-house maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage emergency repairs, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution.
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budgets.
  • Develop and manage the Inventory budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and building codes.
  • Implement and promote best practices in maintenance operations.
  • Address tenant concerns and requests related to maintenance, providing excellent customer service.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technologies and practices.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
Essential
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the housing or property management sector.
  • Relevant qualification in facilities management, engineering, or a related field (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree).
  • Sound knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
  • A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between properties as required.
Desirable Skills:
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Experience in managing maintenance for residential properties or housing associations.
  • Knowledge of eco-friendly and sustainable maintenance practices.
