Microsoft Data Engineer

Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring a Microsoft Data Engineer to work as part of the Data Helpdesk team.
The role will involve use of: MS SQL Server, T-SQL, Power BI, SSRS, ETL (currently SSIS, transitioning to Python), Azure Dev Ops GIT.
Opportunity type:
Contract (6 months initially), Hybrid in Dublin D2 (1- or 2-days max per week in office)
Target start date: ASAP
Requirements:
- Candidate must have 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Microsoft Data Engineer with excellent SQL and T-SQL coding skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Previous experience on a range of client-facing consultancy projects, preferably in both the private and public sectors.
- SQL scripting (T-SQL in particular)
- Worked in an agile environment – has experience using GIT
- Has worked with MS SQL Server – preferably in a Datawarehouse environment
- Python for ETL
- Database and data warehouses – Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with projects involving data migration, ETL or reporting.
- Experience writing SQL scripts (including stored procedures and writing or automating batch jobs) and experience writing scripts using T-SQL for data analysis.
- Experience creating ETL workflows or scripts for ETL purposes with technology such as SSIS, Python, Java Script, Java and C#.
- Experience writing and supporting reports using software such as SSRS, Power BI and Tableau.
- Experience with version control software such as GIT.
- Has worked in an Agile environment.
- Experience working on a helpdesk with good customer service skills.
- Experience writing support documentation – such as user guides, specifications or test plans.
- Experience working with users of varying technical abilities to translate requests to actuality.
Responsibilities:
- The role will primarily involve BAU work on the Data Helpdesk and assisting with ad-hoc T-SQL queries , as well as assisting with project work.
- Learn about data and regulations in a highly-regulated environment .
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and also work independently (with limited supervision).
- Perform professional level analysis requiring technical skills and independent initiative within a well-defined programme of work.
- Interact with clients predominantly at the working level.
