The Embassy of Japan is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual for the position of official car driver. Please see below for details:
1. Terms of Employment
- Working hours are 9:00am –5:45pm (lunch break: 1 hour), with occasional overtime work before/after working hours and weekends.
- Salary range: Approximately 3,000 to 3300 euro per month (which includes the employer PRSI contribution). The actual amount will be decided in view of each case (e.g. qualifications, experience, etc.) in accordance with the Embassy’s regulations.
Please note the Embassy does not use the PAYE system, and therefore, the employee will be responsible for paying PRSI and income tax from his/her salary.
- Hiring Date: On or after 2nd December 2024
-Place of work: Embassy chancery and other places as instructed by the Embassy.
2. Responsibilities
- Driving Embassy cars as instructed (including duties such as driving embassy staff, greeting and assisting official guests to the Embassy, collecting and delivering official goods etc.)
- Observing all traffic regulations and keeping a clean driving history
- Ensuring the safety of passengers and Embassy cars at all times
- Maintaining Embassy cars
- Recording daily activities and mileage
- Administrative duties including maintenance of Embassy facilities among others as instructed
3. Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Be legally entitled to work in Ireland (The Embassy does not support employee’s visa status in Ireland.)
- Fluent in English
- Irish driving license (Manual required)
- Clean driving record and excellent driving skills, minimum 3 years’ experience
