You will be a crucial link between the various functions within the business in terms of supporting the development and communication of political, regulatory, statutory and public affairs positions and contributing to the overall growth of the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the development and delivery of an external public affairs programme, designed to promote RWE’s profile in Ireland in relation to its offshore wind activities.
- Manage and coordinate RWE’s relationship and engagement with Government and political stakeholders across Ireland at a local, regional, national and EU level relating to its offshore wind activities.

- Establish and chair an Ireland Public Affairs coordination group, bringing together colleagues from across Op Co’s to coordinate and align all Irish public affairs activity and external engagement across all technologies. Working together with colleagues in the wider Regulatory, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement functions, develop and deliver a clear set of core messages and associated collateral, for use externally with all external stakeholders as appropriate.
Internal coordination of policy and regulatory topics:
- Work closely and align with the colleagues of the Government Affairs department with regards to the different political discussions in Ireland, UK and the EU to ensure consistent messaging across the Group.
- Brief the Head of Offshore Development, Company Boards, senior management and other relevant internal stakeholders via quarterly RWE Ireland all-hands meetings and ad hoc as appropriate.
- Co-ordinate with Regulatory colleagues to develop a monthly briefing on Ireland Policy and Public Affairs activity, summarising key political and policy developments and our messaging on key strategic issues.
- Issue ad-hoc briefings and updates and respond to all requests for briefing and support from key internal stakeholders.
- Ensure briefings, core messaging and other important information are readily available for internal stakeholders, via the appropriate channels.
- Maintain the contract and relationship with external political and PR advisors (including current principal advisors Murray Consultants), ensuring the relationship provides value for money, quality of service and effective delivery for RWE Ireland.
