Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Seamstress / Alterations Specialist to join our team. This role involves altering, repairing, and tailoring garments to meet specific client requirements, ensuring that each piece meets our standards for quality, fit, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, proficiency with industrial sewing equipment, and experience working with various fabrics.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform alterations and repairs on a range of garments, including hemming, tapering, and adjusting seams, sleeves, and lengths to ensure a perfect fit.
• Use a variety of sewing equipment and tools, including industrial sewing machines, overlock machines, and irons.
• Measure, mark, and pin fabric to assess alterations and ensure accurate adjustments based on customer specifications or standard measurements.
• Ensure quality and consistency in every garment by conducting inspections on all completed pieces.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to prioritize workload and meet deadlines for high-volume orders.
• Maintain and clean workstations, sewing machines, and equipment as necessary to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
• Keep accurate records of alterations and modifications performed on each garment.
• Assist with any other sewing-related tasks as required to support the production team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a seamstress or alterations specialist in a professional or high-volume setting.
• Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, garment construction, and alteration procedures.
• Ability to work with different types of fabrics and garments, including uniforms, workwear, and specialty items.
• Proficiency with industrial sewing machines, overlock machines, and other alteration tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and alterations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or training in sewing or tailoring is a plus.
• Experience with pattern making or garment design is advantageous but not required.
