Job Purpose
To carry out light cabling and splicing on FTTH projects, primarily MDU’s
Works will be nationwide so ideally Midlands, Athlone or Dublin region based
Working as part of a multiskilled team to ensure work is delivered on time and to specification
Duties & Responsibilities

• Installation and splicing of new cable and enclosures
• Splicing and installation of infrastructure in existing chambers or enclosure locations
• Testing of network and splices using varying methods
• Working in multiskilled teams to provide a turnkey FTTH solution for the customer
• Ability to follow design drawings, schematics and splice matrices
• Be an expert in splicing and the use of varying splice machines
• Be able to test all splices within certain limits and identify any issues and root causes
• Work alongside cabling crews
• Liaise with manager’s daily
• Escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely close out
• Ability to maintain records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design maps
• Ability to operate communications devices and company vehicles in accordance with company policies
• Carry out ad-hoc duties as requested by your manager
• Carry out your duties to meet Secto Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times

· Work with colleagues to ensure work is delivered on time and to specification
Requirements
· While no educational level is specified for the role, it is expected that the applicant would have attended full time education for an acceptable period

• Experience in working on FTTx projects, MDU experience preferable
• Experience on various testing methodologies
• Flexibility around travel is desirable

· Strong team working ethos
· Very good English language skills, both written and verbal is a must
· Presentable appearance
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a splicing technician role
· Team player with proven ability to liaise and communicate with client reps on site
All technicians will preferably hold (although training will be provided): -
1. Safe Pass (valid and in date) or CSR (Northern Ireland)
2. Manual Handling (valid and in date)
3. Signing Lighting and Guarding at the roadside, SLG, (valid and in date)
4. Full, clean drivers licence, B Category
5. Working at Height Training (preferable)
