With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, our engineers continue to play a major role in developing new and innovative air-suspension systems for OEM and aftermarket applications.
We are recruiting a Suspension Design Engineer to work in our growing engineering team at our Dublin office. The role will be at the core of our development team, creating vehicle suspension design concepts, and the generation of 3D layouts and 2D drawings and specifications. The candidate will be responsible for leading meeting discussions, while building consensus and negotiating optimum solutions, as well as coordinating supporting activity with related internal departments, external suppliers and factories.
As a Suspension Design Engineer, you will:

• Develop system requirements and derive customer needs, to create vehicle suspension design concepts.
• Lead investigation of system design issues, defining fixes and lessons learned.
• Drive implementation of industry leading processes for automotive Suspension engineering and define and implement processes where gaps exist.
• Help to review products and ensure technical compliance.
• Coordinating supporting activity with related internal departments, external suppliers and factories.
• International travel may be required occasionally.

The successful candidate will have an Engineering degree with a minimum of three years of closely related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Automotive suspension component and system design experience is beneficial.
The candidate must have:

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or similar.
• 3+ Years of relevant industry experience
• A good understanding of automotive suspension component and system design.
• Ability to demonstrate design capability with innovative solutions, using DFM principals.
• Demonstrate ability to think critically and apply fundamental engineering principles to make sound judgements and solve problems
• Ability to work well within a team and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with 3D parametric CAD software (Solid Works, CATIA V5, or similar).
• Expertise in preparing fully detailed technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A global outlook, with a capacity to work in a multinational team.

Desirable skills for this role include:

• Experience in developing and creating vehicle suspension design concepts, and the generation of 3D layouts and 2D drawings and specifications.
• Experience in designing for manufacture – Sheet Metal a bonus
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis
• Excellent IT skills
• German or additional languages a bonus.
