Trading Manager - Produce


Having recently welcomed Ready Chef to the Sysco family, we are delighted to advertise for a Trading Manager role to join our newly created Speciality business team located in Dublin. Our Speciality team will take responsibility for all purchasing and supplier relationships for our combined produce business across Broadline and Ready Chef.


Working closely, Sysco merchandising, supply chain and the experienced Ready Chef team will play a key part in the overall growth of our business, and particularly the delivery of our growth ambition in the produce category. Our Speciality business will help maintain our core ethos here are Sysco - keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.

• Responsible for ensuring Sysco and Ready Chef are leveraging our buying power effectively
• Ensuring we have consistent and stable supply at rates that reflect our volume
• Maximise market trading opportunities for margin gain.

Key Accountabilities:

• Working with the Head of Production & Head of Produce to develop the best range suitable for our wholesale and freshly prepared offering
• The produce category for Ready Chef and Sysco with the Head of Produce.
• Negotiate with suppliers to minimize Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and to outperform the market
• Deliver the fixed annual budgets planned on COGS above the line
• Manage New Product Development (NPD) with Category Managers & technical team
• Lead on:

• Competitive and market analysis to find and renew the sources of supply while working collaboratively with Data & Insights Manager & Commercial Analyst
• Sysco Europe, SMSI, IFG & other international buying, PGM & intertrade
• Sysco Ireland Category Tenders
• Finding alternative sources for product and ensuring commercial team are aware of market conditions
• Work closely with planners to ensure consistent and stable supply.
• Work with Head of Produce to ensure key relationships are maintained with suppliers.
• Actively seek new suppliers for Sysco Ireland and Ready Chef.
• Prepare monthly pricing file for commercial team and advise on predicted market conditions.
• Daily trading outside of contracted volume to maximise of margin gain for Sysco Ireland and Ready Chef.
• Work with marketing and commercial team to ensure Sysco Store and all online platforms are being maximised to the potential.
• Support Commercial Finance on customer tenders.

Requirements:


Third Level Degree in a Business / Procurement / Food related discipline
High level of commercial expertise with relevant Trading / Buyer experience within the Food industry
Results-based with a proven track record of applying their financial, commercial or procurement skills to a range of business-related objectives
A proactive approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel to intermediate-advanced level is a minimum requirement
Full clean B driving license
The role may involve travel, so a degree of flexibility is required
