Part-Time & Relief Positions available
Experienced Van Driver required to work as the initial customer contact collecting samples from customer sites and delivering samples to our Laboratory based in Carlow. Home-based and working to a defined route, you will be responsible for liaising with customers, laboratory staff and management on a daily basis to ensure all samples are delivered to the laboratory in a safe and timely fashion.
The typical start time will be from 6am. This is a Part-time role, requiring relief cover for Holidays & Sick leave. This role would suit someone with previous experience in a similar role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collection of samples in a refrigerated van from our customers’ sites as requested.
2. Deliver samples to Laboratory site in a reasonable timeframe and in good condition.
3. Driving at all times in a safe and appropriate manner; always courteous to other road users.
4. Ensuring the temperature control of the vehicle’s fridge is maintained at all times.
5.Maintain effective and strong relationships with customers, delivering a quality customer service.
6. Maintaining a degree of flexibility on collection runs to allow for additional requests, traffic delays etc.
7. Maintaining a smart appearance and clean vehicle.
8. Ensuring that vehicle maintenance is upheld including tyres, oil, water and overall condition of the vehicle, while also reporting all necessary faults as soon as possible.
9. Following customer site requirements / guidelines while attending customer sites.
10. Completing paperwork in full and in a legible format.
11. Informing Line Manager / Sample receipt dept. of any customer issues or other relevant information.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• A full clean driving licence.
• Good adherence to the rules of the road and demonstrate excellent driver behaviour standards.
• Ideally have previous experience in a similar role.
• Excellent time-keeping skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Flexible and reliable.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a friendly disposition.
• Ability to work to set collection times / deadlines.
• Ability to act upon information given and use initiative.
