• Experience within a PR Agency or in-house role
• Experience that demonstrates a comfort in dealing with consumer media contacts across news, lifestyle, and broadcast sectors
• Strong understanding of measuring the impacts and benefits of PR programs
• Experience managing more than one consumer PR, influencer, or content agency, including large scale budgets
• Detailed budget management including resourcing vendors, staying on top of accounting and overseeing all financial deliverables
• Ideally educated to degree level
• Strong competency in basic Office software (Outlook, Excel etc.)

Amazon is seeking a self-motivated and creative individual for the role of PR Manager for the Consumer and Retail Stores PR team in Italy. The candidate will lead proactive campaigns that increase awareness of new and established products and services, build excitement for large scale shopping occasions like Prime Day and Black Friday, and demonstrate the value customers get while shopping on Amazon. The candidate will also focus on educating customers on the benefits of Prime and how it enriches people’s lives. This individual will be responsible for supporting the local communications team. They will also implement campaigns that drive brand warmth and affinity by demonstrating all the ways Amazon is a force for good.

The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of implementing measurable and effective consumer communications programs for a large, fast-moving organization in Italy including overseeing campaigns with top earned media, social reach, and high-engagement influencer relations. This role is part of a team that collaborates closely with business, product, and other PR leaders.

The successful candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture, and be always willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done independently with the same obsessive attention to quality and detail expected of their team. They also need to operate proficiently in English and Italian.

Key job responsibilities

• Implement PR plans for core retail areas covering consumer campaigns, news generation and product placement including categories such as: Consumables (food, health and beauty etc), Private Brands, Hardlines (toys, sports and outdoor, gaming etc)
• Support industry leading integrated Consumer campaigns around our biggest and most meaningful key retail moments (notably Prime Day and Black Friday)
• Work closely with and support the management of Amazon social calendar and influencer campaigns in Italy
• Successfully lead media inquiries related to the retail business
• When required, act as a business partner to Amazon retail category leadership teams across key areas, collaborating with internal stakeholder teams to drive successful program launches
• Write messaging, and media facing materials; pitch and secure top-tier media, including print, broadcast and online outlets

• Media relations expert - a demonstrated feel for what works to secure high level earned media
• Tactically aware - knowledgeable about what’s going on in the media and with the brand and able to marry the two at short notice for maximum PR benefit
• Cross-Channel Campaign Management - experience managing cross-channel campaigns with both earned and social elements, including the use of paid strategies

• Organised - able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while managing essential admin work
