ABOUT US

YOUR TEAM
We are looking for one postdoc in Machine Learning theory and algorithms possibly with applications in large scale efficient learning algorithms. The research themes include sketched large-scale algorithms and modern overparameterized models through the lens of regularization and optimization, and possibly the study of physics-informed machine learning. You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group where computer scientists, mathematicians and engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
The candidate will work on IIT@MIT research line in collaboration with the research unity of Prof. Rosasco of Genoa University, who has extensive experience in machine learning theory, algorithms and applications. The research focuses on machine learning theory, algorithms, and applications, with an emphasis on efficient machine learning algorithms with applications to robotics.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

A Ph D in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics
Documented experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization, applied analysis (inverse problems), control theory, reinforcement learning
A strong mathematical and computational background
A strong publication record
The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
Good command in spoken and written English

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Experience in both computational and modeling aspects (e.g. optimization and statistics / inverse problems)
Good communication skills
Strong problem solving attitude
High motivation to learn
Spirit of innovation and creativity
Good in time and priority management
Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
