Serves as the overall assistant of a Stockroom Supervisor (retail) of a large retail store generating $100,001 to 400,000 adjusted AMSV
Or
Is in charge of either Hardlines or Softlines merchandise in a large retail store generating $300,001 or over adjusted AMSV.
Or
Is in charge of the back-up stock of a retail store generating $250,001 and over adjusted AMSV.
May supervise lower-level employees.

1. Assists in coordinating, supervising, and participates in unloading of merchandise from trucks and transporting to stockroom, and segregates merchandise by category. Checks quantity against supporting documents and verifies correct receipt. Identifies merchandise not properly marked and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
2. Assists in supervising, and participates in, stacking of merchandise on shelves, pallets, or in bins. Re-warehouses and rotates stock to ensure "first in first out" procedures. Ensures compliance with prescribed storage methods, practices, and procedures.
3. Assists in coordinating, supervising, and participates in picking of merchandise from stock for issue to requesting sales departments of the store. Upon specific instruction transfers merchandise to other stores or returns merchandise. Assists in supervising of packing of merchandise and arranges for shipping.
4. Assists in supervising and participates in physical inventories. Conducts on-the-spot inventories, clarifies stock discrepancies, and initiates correction action. Maintains stock accountability.
5. May prepare requisitions and other documents supporting stock transactions. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Supervisory control:

Works under general supervision of a retail store manager or a stockroom manager/supervisor. Follows assignments and instructions. Follows general storage principles and methods. Work is subject to periodic inventory and inspection for compliance with storage procedures and adherence to safety and security standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of High School
Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement. Specialized merchandise knowledge and sales experience required.
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
