About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Asia Operations Manager to join our team as a contractor. Based in Japan, this fully remote position offers you the opportunity to work autonomously while playing a key role in managing and improving operations across our luxury travel brands, including Luxury Gold, Insight Vacations, Trafalgar, and Costsaver.
You’ll be working with our suppliers globally to deliver the best ever travel experiences to our amazing guests. You’ll need keen attention to detail, a questioning mind, and the ability to find the most efficient and effective way to get something done.
In this role, you will oversee the delivery of world-class travel experiences in partnership with Ground Handlers across regions like Africa, Asia, and the Eastern Mediterranean. You’ll be responsible for driving operational efficiency and ensuring our high standards are maintained, all while working in a flexible and independent environment.

You’ll be responsible for driving operational efficiency and ensuring our high standards are maintained, all while working in a flexible and independent environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee and manage travel experiences delivered through Ground Handlers, ensuring operational standards are consistently met.
- Supplier Coordination: Develop and maintain strong relationships with Ground Handlers and Travel Directors to facilitate seamless operations.
- Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for emergency operational requirements from Ground Handlers.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks of suppliers and resolve guest complaints to ensure superior travel experiences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth tour operations and support content development for travel itineraries.
- Training & Development: Conduct briefings, debriefings, and training for Travel Directors, Concierge teams, and other suppliers to uphold operational excellence.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Japanese is essential.
- Independent Work Skills: Proven experience working autonomously, with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Industry Expertise: Strong background in travel industry operations, particularly in managing guided tours or working with Ground Handlers.
- Remote Readiness: Comfortable with remote work, demonstrating excellent time management and communication skills.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in Power Point, Excel
- Right to Work in Japan: You must have the legal right to work as a contractor in Japan.
- Flexibility: While this is a remote position, occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Experience operating or contracting guided journeys is preferred
- Experience living, studying or working in the US, Australia, UK or other key source markets for our guests an advantage
