We are a joint venture between two global leaders, embarking on a multi-year transformation project aimed at overhauling both our business and technology landscape in Japan. Role Overview

The CTO will play a critical role in leading the technology strategy and execution for our operations in Japan. Reporting directly to the President/CEO of Japan, the CTO will drive the integration of business and technology, ensuring seamless collaboration with both local and international teams. This transformation will span key areas including infrastructure, applications, and particularly ERP (SAP) systems, with a focus on aligning technology with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall technology strategy and operations for the joint venture in Japan.
• Drive the multi-year transformation initiative to overhaul business and technology systems, focusing on ERP systems and enterprise applications.
• Manage and optimize IT infrastructure, ensuring robust support for business growth and operational efficiency.
• Oversee governance, compliance, and regulatory standards within the technology function.
• Collaborate closely with the President/CEO and the executive team to align technology initiatives with business strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop IT teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with international teams to ensure global alignment and integration of technology solutions.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the successful delivery of IT services and solutions.

Key Requirements

• Fully bilingual in Japanese and English (fluency required).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a strong background in infrastructure and ERP systems.
• Proven experience in sectors such as manufacturing, chemical would be ideal for the applicant but the company are open
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing IT teams or divisions.
• Solid understanding of governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements in the relevant sectors.
• Proven ability to align business and technology strategies, driving transformation and innovation.
• Strong budgetary management skills as you will be responsible for Cap Ex and Cost reduction
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with executive leadership, local teams, and international colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing large-scale transformation projects.
• Expertise in integrating business processes and technology, particularly in ERP implementation and optimization.
• Strategic mindset with hands-on leadership abilities to execute complex projects.
