Front Desk- Switchboard Operator

Job Summary:
The Switchboard Operator is a multitasker who speaks English and Spanish Fluently and operates Royal’s Contact Center providing routine information and directing calls to the appropriate area.
This work is performed at the front desk in a fast-paced environment that could be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
*Responsibilities may include additional tasks according to the needs of the department and the organization.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
*Responsibilities may include additional tasks according to the needs of the department and the organization.
- Channels all incoming calls, and routes calls to the appropriate department and/or person.
- Takes messages and processes them accordingly.
- Knows staff schedules for all offices.
- Has general information regarding insurance, schedule, procedures, and services provided across the board.
- Keeps log of telephone numbers and cell phones.
- Handles emergencies according to a specified procedure.
- Turns over calls to the answering service as per instructed.
- Confirms daily appointments, checking information and updating when possible.
- Maintains information and confidentiality.
- Performs related work as required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Adheres to the Agency’s policies and procedures including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of business office procedures.
- Knowledge of Call Manager software and communication procedures.
- Skill in operating a communications system.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely with a pleasant telephone voice.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and the public.
- High School diploma or equivalent/GED.
- 1 – 2 years of Contact/Call Center, experience preferably in a medical group.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
