Company Profile

• A private equity fund has acquired a business unit of a major Japanese conglomerate in the manufacturing sector, with renowned high-tech products and a top 3 player in its sector. As a result, a new carved-out company will be officially incorporated from April 1st 2025, as a brand new corporate entity. This business will have approximately 1,800 employees, a global presence of 30 commercial offices worldwide and revenues exceeding 700m USD. Manufacturing of these hi-tech products are mainly in Japan and China. While the HQ is in Japan, 90% of this revenue is coming from overseas, therefore they are looking to hire a global CIO who can build a technology function from scratch, designed to optimize and support the global organization.
• While the new company will benefit from a 3-year TSA of IT services from the current parent organization, this is a truly unique opportunity to build a global IT function from scratch

The Role

• As the CIO, you will have full ownership of the strategy, execution and operation of the Global IT organization, as a value-added function to optimize the business.
• Navigating a TSA. Guide the company through the 3-year TSA with the former parent company, negotiating and necessary service adjustments and improvements where required
• IT Strategy and Organizational Design. Design a complete standalone IT organization for after the TSA period, based on your understanding of the new company's strategies and operational model.
• Business Partnering. Requires strong communication and partnering with various corporate functions, in Japan and overseas.
• Design of IT Landscape. Full ownership of designing and selecting the new system landscape to be "Fit to Standard" leveraging global Saa S packages, and capable of empowering a data-driven organization
• Talent Management and Hiring. From day-one, you will be the only IT member and one of your first missions will be to build your own team, hiring top talent from the market.

Your Skills

• At least 10 years experience in a Senior IT Leadership role
• Experience in manufacturing or related sector with physical products, such as pharmaceutical, consumer goods etc.
• Hands on leadership and capable of building an IT organization from scratch
• Broad understanding of various technologies, and ability to apply the right solutions to fit the business.
• Talent Management and Hiring. From day-one, you will be the only IT member and one of your first missions will be to build your own team, hiring top talent from the market
• Experience of working in a Global IT Organization.
• Fully bilingual: Japanese and English

• 20,000,000 yen - 40,000,000 yen
