Northern Manhattan Perinatal Partnership (NMPP) a maternal and child health agency whose mission is to assist women in the Harlem and, Washington Heights and Inwood communities with healthy birth outcomes. NMPP assists vulnerable, at-risk families by providing health and social services.
NMPP seeks a registered nurse midwife or a maternal nurse contractor to provide health care service and advice to our pre conception, pregnant, and post partem women. The nurse must be able to support pregnant clients during pregnancy and at the the time of birth. Must be culturally sensitive to our diverse clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Facilitate weekly workshops to educate pregnant and pre conception women on early warning signs that could lead obstetric complications.
* Monitor the health of pregnant women such as (taking blood pressure and serve as a liaison for the pregnant and their medical providers.
* Assess and write care plans and maintain records.
* Provide information and support to women and their partners
* Advise parents about the daily care of their of their babies
* Provide childbirth education
* Provide one on one consultation with pregnant women
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to deal with different situations, excellent team working skills, interpersonal and communication skills, observational skills, and an interest in child birth and child bearing. Ability to work with a diverse population from various cultural backgrounds
Bilingual English/ Spanish
EDUCATION
BS in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. RN licensure . Certification in midwifery and. IBCLC strongly preferred . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong observational skills, and an interest in pregnancy and birth

Pay: $120.00 per hour
