Position Overview:
The Head Cook / Kitchen Lead will be responsible for:
- Managing food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Maintaining high hygiene and quality standards
- Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflows and order fulfillment
- Monitoring stock levels and minimizing waste
- Training and mentoring kitchen staff as the team grows
Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare and cook menu items, including burgers, fries, and sides
- Follow established recipes to maintain consistent taste and presentation
- Monitor portion sizes and ensure food quality aligns with brand standards
- Manage the kitchen workflow to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene meet safety standards
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs with management
- Minimize food waste by ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO)
- Track ingredient usage and maintain accurate records
- Train and mentor new staff as the team expands
- Foster a positive team environment focused on efficiency and teamwork
- Implement menu improvements and new ideas while maintaining quality
- Minimum of 7 years in a cook or kitchen lead role, preferably in fast-casual or quick-service restaurants
- Strong background in preparing and cooking burgers, fries, and related menu items
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team
- Passionate about food and committed to delivering high-quality dishes
- Flexibility to work long shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining high standards
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to grow with the business
- Long shifts with overtime as needed (paid and included in the package)
