VIE Risk Officer- H/F/X

Responsibilities
Among the firsts banks of the Luxembourg's place, SG Luxembourg has set up an Asset Management subsidiary (100% owned), whith more than 9 billions of euros under management.
SGPWM has in particular created the UCITS V SICAV : Moorea Fund, which gives access to the Société Générale Private Banking expertises. Beside this offer dedicated to the Private Banking clients, SGPWM is developing a Third Party Fund offer.
SGPWM also offer its services of private mandate in Discretionnary Portfolio Management and in Advisory to the clients of SG Luxembourg Private Banking.
In this context, SGPWM has to be irreproachable in fulfilling its obligation of Risk Management, both from a regulatory point of view and from the Group standards point of view, and whish as a consequence be supported by a VIE.
Tasks and responsibilities
Risk monitoring :
  • Carry out controls and reporting (preparation of risk reports, coordination and monitoring of corrective action plans) in connection with Private Portfolio Management and Collective Investment activities
  • Participate in the formalization and updating of the department's operational procedures, monitor the development of operational risk management and steering systems
  • Participate in the various risk monitoring committees (collective and individual management)
  • Monitor and analyze the main risk indicators (Va R, Tracking-Error, Beta etc ...)
  • Monitor the main risks on all asset classes (equities, bonds, funds, derivatives, structured products, etc.)
  • Participate in risk studies related to Private Equity
Activity monitoring :
  • Establish quantitative dashboards and monitor the activity of the department
  • Carry out regulatory updates
  • Establish qualitative reports for management
You will also be required to attend the various committees of the department and to interact with the management teams, the commercial forces, the legal department and with the internal and external auditors.
Due to the VIE eligibility criteria, a questionnaire will be provided. Please make sure to answer all the questions for an efficient analysis of your application.
Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Market Finance
  • A previous experience in Asset Management would be appreciated
Language skills:
  • Fluent in English
Technical, operational & soft skills:
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Proficient in a Programming Language (VBA, Python...)


The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Luxemburg is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
