Position: Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor

Join us at IMU's School of Psychology and Social Sciences to shape the future of mental health and social sciences education. We are seeking passionate educators for the Master of Counselling program.

• Teach and develop courses within the Master of Counselling program.
• Engage in scholarly research and contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Supervise and mentor students in their academic and professional development.
• Participate in academic administration, including curriculum development and committee work.
• Secure research grants and manage research funding.
• Lead academic projects or research teams.

• A Ph.D. in any field, including Counselling, combined with a Master’s degree in Counselling or Counselling Psychology.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Counselling is required.
• Must be a registered counsellor under Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM).
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience.
• Demonstrated record of 5-10 publications in indexed journals.
• Experience in providing clinical supervision to trainee counsellors or counsellors, and training in clinical supervision
• Experience in leading academic projects or research teams.
• Experience in mentoring and supervising students.
• Experience in securing research grants and managing research funding.
• Experience with academic administration, including curriculum development and committee involvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Training or focused skills in one of the following areas: crisis and trauma counselling, grief counselling, marriage and family therapy, expressive art therapy, or other specialisations.
