About the current vacancy
Enhance Academy is currently seeking an English Language Teacher to join our Desa Park City team from January 2025. The successful candidate will teach a range of ages including adults, but can expect the majority of classes initially to be general English for ages 10-13.
We are looking for a candidate to teach 16.5 hours/week (28 working hours) from Thursday to Sunday (with Mon-Wed off), but may consider a full-time offer for the right candidate.
Requirements/Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ teaching experience, which should include young learners in face-to-face group classes. (Exclusively online or one-to-one experience will not be considered.)
• A broad range of teaching experience - different ages and proficiency levels - would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in English: a minimum of IELTS Band Score 8 or evidence of CEFR C2 attainment.
• Comfortable using technology on a daily basis, especially Microsoft and Google applications.

For Malaysian applicants:

• A language teaching qualification (Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL preferred)

For Non-Malaysian applicants:

• Cambridge CELTA, Trinity Cert TESOL or higher. (Due to Malaysian immigration policies, online TEFL certificates cannot be considered.)
• A bachelor's degree in any subject.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a salary of RM5,380 - RM7,690 per month, depending on the number of hours per week, qualifications, and experience.
In addition to the above salary, benefits include a pension contribution (claimable as salary or on departure from Malaysia), comprehensive health insurance, and approximately nine weeks paid leave (pro-rated) per year. For teachers applying from outside Malaysia, we offer flight reimbursement and 10 days accommodation upon arrival.
About Enhance Academy
Enhance Academy, a subsidiary of Enhance Education Sdn Bhd, is a premium English language centre located in Desa Park City - an award-winning suburb on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The majority of our students are young learners aged 4-16 who study with us for two hours per week. We also offer adult classes and Corporate Training.
Full-time teachers work 40 hours per week from Wednesday to Sunday, with a maximum of 24 contact teaching hours. The centre is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We have 42 weeks of classes each year, 3-5 teacher preparation/professional development days, and around 9 weeks of paid annual leave which is fixed to the academic calendar.
Teachers are expected to plan and teach a range of English language courses for young learners, teens, and adults. The position also involves a range of administrative responsibilities. including marking portfolios of students' work, engaging with parents, completing student reports, and performing placement tests/consultations with prospective students/parents.
About Desa Park City
Desa Park City is an award-winning township on the edge of Kuala Lumpur (a 30-45 minute drive to the city centre), popular with families and expats for its green-spaces, low-density, restaurants and western-inspired design. Accommodation can be found within 1-2km of Enhance, but expect prices to be high compared to most of KL. E-hailing rides are usually easy to find, or a 15-min bus ride connects Desa Park City to the closest rail station (MRT Sri Damansara Sentral).
