Job Description
The Operation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Hotel Casuarina @ Kuala Kangsar, ensuring a world-class experience for guests and an efficient, positive working environment for staff. This role demands strong leadership, strategic planning and effective financial management to maximize profitability and ensure the highest quality of service across all departments. The ideal candidate will be an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for exceptional service and a proven track record in hotel operations.
Responsibilities

• Direct and manage hotel operations across departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Maintenance, Security, Sales and others) to ensure efficient functioning and outstanding service.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve the hotel’s long-term vision, aligning with market trends and organizational goals.
• Develop, monitor and adjust the annual budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and profitability targets.
• Implement strategies to minimize expenses without compromising quality, focusing on cost-effective purchasing and labor efficiency.
• Work with the Management team to optimize room rates, maximize occupancy, and implement effective pricing strategies.
• Track key performance indicators, analyze financial reports, and adjust strategies to improve profitability and guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, and social media strategies to drive occupancy and guest engagement.
• Lead the sales team to identify target markets, secure group bookings, events and implement strategies to increase occupancy and revenue.
• Provide timely, accurate reports on financial performance, occupancy, guest satisfaction, and operational issues to senior management.
• Conduct market analysis to monitor competitors and adapt strategies to remain competitive in pricing, amenities, and service quality.
• Establish a guest-first culture by implementing and maintaining high service standards across all departments, addressing guest issues, and continually improving service delivery.
• Collaborate closely with department heads to ensure all areas are appropriately staffed, and all team members are meeting performance standards.
• Develop, revise and enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain consistency, safety, and quality standards.
• Ensure the property is well-maintained by coordinating with the maintenance team for routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Uphold all safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and certification requirements.
• Promote a positive, collaborative workplace culture that values employee engagement, teamwork, and professionalism.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a hotel’s Operation Manager or senior leader in hotel operations.
• Experience managing hotel’s services for royalty and high-profile VIPs guest.
• A degree or diploma in hospitality management, business administration, or related field is preferred.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and forecasting
• Knowledge of hotel management software.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple timelines and vendors simultaneously.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and days, including public holidays and weekends as and when required.
