Scope:
Responsible for developing CNC programs by CAD/CAM software to produce machined parts on CNC Milling machines, Wire EDM & Sinker. Set up and operate machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Job Authority:

• Authority to manage the machining process and take necessary action to ensure the quality, safety and health hazard of the products.

Key Job Accountability

• Work directly with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images.
• Generate CNC programs from the CAD/CAM software.
• Prepare CNC machine set up sheet with cutting tool list, set up instructions & controls.
• Control the handling of CNC programs from server to CNC machines.
• Create and maintain the part manufacturing processes.
• Set up and operate CNC machines as needed.
• Performs product / process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
• Responsible for detailed DFM for Capability Pinch Points to ensure successful implementation of process plan.
• Programming, operating and perform preventive maintenance of CNC Sinker and Wire EDM machines.
• Able to run Master CAM software to generate machines codes to operate the Wire EDM.
• Ability to hold close tolerance up to 0.001 inch for wire and 0.0005 inch for the Sinker EDM.
• Experience interpreting blueprint dimensions and using measuring tools

Job Function

• To generate machining processes, clamping method & CNC programs.
• To create CNC machine set up sheet.
• CNC process set up on machines.
• Troubleshoot machining related issues (cutting tools, manufacturing process or mechanical).
• Maintain and update records (CAM files, NC programs, set up sheet, DFM).
• To provide DFM if needed.
• To implement continuous improvement program on process cycle time and product quality.

Education/Training/Experience:

• High school diploma in Mechanical Engineering or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• Possess at least 10 years of work experience as a CNC Programmer.
• Hands-on experience in product, tooling and fixture design in mechanical related industry
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing of mechanical components for Fiber Optics, Cell Phone and related industry.
• Utilizing software for solid modeling and CAM, worked in machine shop.
• Background of tool & die, CNC machining, precision tooling, stamping, extrusion, die casting and plastic mold design background.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good understanding of SPC, GD&T and Std ANSI Y 14.5
• Solidworks and Creo knowledge & application.
• Possess strong analytical skills and able to solve complex mechanical & tooling problem, proficient in using machine shop equipment will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and language skills required for English.
