Tooling Engineer

We are now hiring for a Tooling Engineer, to be based in our Malaysia office (Synturn (M) Sdn Bhd).
RESPONSIBILITY
- Ensure all records on toolings utilization, inventory and other related report are updated and proper update of the QAD system
- Work closely with production managers, engineers and other PIC to understand tooling requirements and constraints.
- Assigning jobs to Toolmakers and ensuring that fully support on production needs in place to meet the Planner schedule.
- Analyze existing tooling processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Participate and contribute in cost reduction and productivity programs
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for tooling department and ensure the cost are accurately estimated and controlled
- To ensure all purchased products conform to specify purchased requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and regularly compare costs from different vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in handling and incharge of Tooling department
- Effectively negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Strong project management skills to oversee tooling projects and ensure they stay within budget.
- Good communication, leadership and people-management
- Self-motivated, result-oriented and able to multi task under pressure and change
- Able to work independently
- 5 days work
